Author Andrea Carpenter is a chartered mechanical engineer and a Fellow with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.  After several years working in the aerospace industry she is now in the medical engineering profession. Carpenter’s past fiction has drawn from this background.

In her new novel, Need, Greed & Ignorance, she has been inspired by her personal experience of those suffering from mental health conditions and wrote this novel to offer an insight to others, particularly those who interact with individuals confronting psychological challenges.

It is a fictional novel (and never meant to be anything other), but the main character’s “affliction” is not uncommon and is a disorder that many people may recognise, or indeed have to live with daily themselves.

Andrea lives in West Devon with her husband James and a stroppy Duck called Donald.
